When the car ignition is switched on the the speedometer & rev counter lights come on automatically ,something i find disconcerting as sometimes when I've pulled away at night i haven't switched my lights on. Does anyone know how to override this

not sure you can, many late vehicles are like this,i have a Puegeot and a Vauxhall they both do it

Does your car not have auto lighting setting on the lights? Most Focus Titanium do I think. If so set it to auto and the car will turn your lights on as it gets dark and off in light or when the ignition os switched off.
