How do i get rid of a previous question I have posted on this web as people keep returning answers all the time and web alerts keep cluterring up my inbox

You can't get rid of questions.

Just click up there ^ in the top right corner where it says " If you feel that your question has been answered fully and do not wish for any further responses, please click here."

My tip is change the email address shown under your profile, so all the emails from AB telling you about replies will go to that email account. if necessary create a new email account or use an old one you no longer use.
As others have said, you don't.

It's not 'your' question - others may be interested in it and the answers. That's the whole point of this website - sharing of information, not just with the questioner, but with anyone who has an interest in the subject.
Yes, the best you can do is take steps to stop your email inbox being filled with emails telling you you have an answer. The tip from Chuckfickens will help as will changing the email address on your AB profile.
The ironic thing is though that you will have another load of notifications now from this question :-)
