In an answer to an earlier question Octavius tried to start a story but unfortunately it didn't get very far. I thought it was a good idea, anyone want to try again? Two ground rules though; 1) Max. 2 lines per submission, 2) You can't add until someone has added to your line. No ... 3 rules ... remember it's for family reading :) I'll start ...

Before the bus set off to Cleethorpes the deep booming voice and shrill shrieks could be heard again and their source, a huge  lumberjack came staggering out of the trees, flailing wildly with his axe at the 3 remaining mosquitoes buzzing around his head. The custard lady and the vertically challenged fox were so amazed by what he was wearing that they stopped kissing and stared in amazement.

As the vertically challenged fox was kissed by his secret love, the custard lady, he changed into a handsome prince and his secret love turned into a non demented princess with no custard.  "I am Prince Lovely" he cried and ran towards the mad hulk, who looked shocked and ran away swiftly followed by the mozzies who couldn't get away fast enough.
As the handsome prince and the non demented custard free princess gambolled in the forest, the Crocodile Dundee/Atonio Banderos lookalike gazed at them sadly and wished he had someone to love. He was sick of beautiful women who all seemed so shallow and self centred and wondered if he was destined to spend his days alone, driving mystery tours between cheese triangle factories, treacle mines, fish farms and sewerage works.

Then I woke up. It had all been a rather tedious dream.

THE END

...is nigh read the poster above my bed when I awoke two minutes earlier than usual which was lucky because my usual bus was also two minutes early.

"Lucky I was early" said the man with the briefcase.

(okay, ... like all the best soap operas this could probably run and run, but this seems to have come to a good ending. Thanks graemar for picking up on it and everyone else for their contributions. I don't think we'll win any prizes, but it was fun nonetheless. Thanks.)
