Morning all. I still need no. 19. Best friend comes round the Close for protection(9). Thoughts of dogs. pals mates. etc. havent help neither has. close. as in shut. or close as in near. willing to swap tips on others thanks in anticipation.

I think this must be something with "guard" in it, as in guard dog (man's best friend) and protection is a guard.

you obviously stuck on this one too. tried pooch cur etc. have you thought about close as in shut? or the 'e' at the close of the word the.(I know what I mean!! but this looks an ugly way of saying it) ha ha. also comes around = visiting or calling.
