Why would you think it is wrong?
You mean a Notice of Intended Prosecution.

What is the offence? Are you referring to the 14 day rule? If it is a motoring offence, are you the registered keeper?
If you are the RK, what is the date on the NIP?
Question Author
I am not the registerd keeper, its a company vehicle, the company had the same nip sent to them about a week ago, asking for driver details which i sent back but today i have received another thats dated 16 april, the offence was on 20 march.
That's perfectly correct, then. The NIP was sent to the registered keeper within time, and from the information given them on the original NIP they have sent one to you as the driver.

Perfectly proper and legal procedure.
