I've just tried to reinstall my printer, (old lexmark 3200 colour inkjet) and a warnign came up on screen telling me not to go any further as it was not compatible with windows xp. i went to the lexmark website and downloaded the drivers and went thro' the whole printer wizard set up only to get the same warning!! Should i install it anyway or is it too dangerous to do so?

Install it and ignore any warnings, it's not at all dangerous.
Windows will create a restore point so even if something goes hideously wrong (it won't) then you can restore back to ye olden days before the problem.
Agreed, it has not been specifically approved for XP, but that doesn't mean it won't work. I have loads of drivers like this on my PC and have had no problems.
