Has anything bad (or good) happened to you today?

I've had such a day, first my iron wouldn't work, then the washing machine broke, and then after getting the washing done (thanks to a kindly neighbour) I'd just hung it all on the washing line when the (small) tree one end of the line is attached to snapped and all my lovely clean washing fell on the ground. Oh, well, I couldn't iron it anyway!

Lovely day. Sun shone. Gushed forth on AB. Had nice pizza for lunch. Went to work, easy drive, not much work to do. Still there, still gushing forth. Will drive home early Saturday. Still 90 minutes for the roof to fall in, but I'm feeling optimistic.

And you got the day off from ironing!! So everything's cool!!

Started my day in A&E.  Spent most of it in bed.  Had a horrible micro meal as i didn't have time to cook.  Rushed to see a friend in a play - that was OK i suppose (she was great, it was not amazing overall).  Ending the day with ANOTHER headache.  Oooh - yay - midnight! :-)

Yes! The whole of our company's IT system broke for 6 hours. Then my PC blew up. Then the fax machine broke. Got ink all over my hands. Nasty horrible day!

Do you know I typed out a question on the very subject! I think something distracted me and I didn't post it.  It is a date that some people really look forward to, as they go to the opposite of the superstition and are sure lovely things will happen.  I used to work for such a bloke. I wanted to know how ABers felt about it nowadays, or is it a superstition (or the knowledge of it) that has died out?  Obviously not, in the case of three ABers plus me.

spudqueen:  I try never to iron things these days. I don't have a garden line now, and if I'm careful with things out of the dryer, I can manage!  Therefore  a broken iron  is a remote possibilty for me.

oh my god yes i had a crap day too. things were ok till i went out in the evening. I tried really hard all day to forget the day as i am i tad superstitious. went out with my friend and all the bars etc we went to were rowdy and full of chavs then i had managed to drink 8 archers with no effect and to top it all off as i walked to my lift home my heel of my best and most favourite boot came off. i was sooo not happy. The highlight of the night had to be the chicken burger we ate!!! so that is saying something. The moral of the story is never go out on friday 13th.
