sooooo i need someone to help me figure out what percentage i needed to get to pass a module.

so for example i have an essay with a weight of 30% and an essay with a weight of 70%. for the 30% essay i got 42% and the 70% essay i got 69%. what would be the overall percentage?

i know its not add the two together and divide by two. so if anybody can help me with my ridiculous mathematic skills i would be very grateful.

thank you

30% x 42% = 14% (out of a possible 30)
69% x 70% = 48.3% (out of a possible 70)

14+48.3 = 62.3% overall
Sorry to be pedantic, but a slight error there. 30% x 40% = 12.6%, so your total will be 60.9%
that's of course 30% x 42% - D'oh!!!
sorry, yeah, you're right.
need to practice my mental arithmetic. Just divided 42 by 3, rather than multiplying. Silly error.
