Hi everyone, hopefully someone can help me...2 years ago I bought a 52" samsung tv..i have just redecorated my house and when I turned the tv back on there are lots of black lines on the tv, the screen is not cracked its the 'inner screen' if there is such a thing! I called my home insurance company and logged my claim, I checked that it was cover and they confirmed that it was, however when it was purchased it was done by my previous partner on her credit card, so I dont have aproof of purchase now im worried that i wont get the claim authorised I have tried to call the shop (comet) and requested a proof of purchase but they wont do it for me as its in my ex's name...is there anything i can do? and because of this will the claim be rejected? I purchased it for 1600...thanks in advance

If you purchased it the receipt would be in your name regardless of who paid for it.

If your ex has the receipt - - you better get some knee pads ;)
Was your ex named on the insurance at anytime - might help if they were. Otherwise just tell the truth - hope it goes OK
you surely wont nee the reciet if you have the telly? The ins co will just replace it with the same spec one, so they dont need to know how much it cost then. Plus, you have the tv as proof of purchase!
it only matters if it was nicked, surely?
