Hi everyone, wld jst like some advice from other mums/mums to be. Im currently 24 weeks pregnant and cant really say i've felt a good proper kick yet! This is my first and part of it is im sure i jst dont know what it shld feel like. Im quite a large build & at my 20 week scan i was told the placenta was at the front of my belly and this cld act as a buffer between baby kicking and me feeling it but that was a few weeks ago now. I see my midwife nxt thurs so will ask her then but jst wondered what everyone elses experiences were?! Thanks in advance guys

at 24 weeks even without placenta at front you wouldnt feel much more than a light flutter or a popping sensation.
proper kicks and movement dont start til a lot later

thanks reassuring redcrx thanks. i have a friend who is due around the same time & she claims to be getting kicked to death!
I had a frontal placenta and started to get concerned around 20+ weeks as I couldnt feel anything either. It wasnt until about 27+ weeks that I felt definitive movement. Don't worry, soon you will be complaining that there are elbows & feet jabbing you! Oh the joys!!!!!!
Hi

I'm nearly 26 weeks now with my 2nd, and although I felt some movement earlier on, I haven't felt hardly any at all - until last night when I actually saw my whole tummy shift from one side to the other and felt the most almighty kick! My midwife told me that when you're walking about during the day you're rocking them to sleep so they're much more llikely to be awake when you're asleep. You're ofcourse doing the right thing checking with your midwife, but as the others say, I'm sure you'll be getting shoves and kicks soon enough! Congrats on your pregnancy, good luck with everything!

I'm 30 weeks this Saturday and didn't start feeling anything definite, until about 4 weeks ago. Now baby just moves and kicks all day, but moreso at night when I'm lying down. It's really strange seeing the movement as well.

They also say larger framed women are less likely to feel as much movement as smaller framed ones.

Thanks velvetee & picky - ive been doing some research about anterior placenta (i think its clld) which means little is felt until much later on. Congrats on both your pregnancies & wishing all the best baby luck for the future xo
Hi There,

I'm 20 weeks pregnant & I too have posted many qestions about movement on here as I was getting worried. However, I think it's different for everyone from the replies I got. I also have a low placenta.
Normally late morning when I'm sat at my deak I can feel definate movement & light kicks already! I'll get this 2 3 times a day but there is no routine to my movements yet.

It's only the last 2 weeks I've been feeling these movements, I think once you start recognizing them, the get stronger weekly.

I expect your mid-wife will ask whether you've felt movements so mention it but like everyone says, with a first baby (like me), larger framed & frontal placenta these all add to drowning out the tinest of flutters.

Good luck & Congratulations :o)
