Who wrote a popular novel of the day, over 100 years ago, that glorified the major public school he had himself attended? P.S It shares its title with a film that starred a screen "James Bond" in a military role?

Oakfield by William Delafield Arnold ?
Horace Annesley Vachell - The Hill
Well Sean Connery certainly played an Army officer in a film called The Hill.

I remember seeing it at the cinema MANY years ago.
Detective- when are you going to get the message that the organiser of Great Fun Quiz has requested that his questions are not asked on sites like this. You are spoiling the quiz for everyone. If answers are given away freely (assuming that they are correct) then everyone else who cares to look is given the same information as you so nothing at all is gained.
