I had my hair highlighted by this hairdresser and I love the colour of it but on Sat I had it cut at the same place with the same lady and I really don't like it.

What do u do when u don't like the cut but u like the colour? She might be offended if I just have colour done there and never have a cut again!

In fairness the haircut isn't all her fault as I had my fringe cut somewhere else and they done it too short, and then went to this other hairdressers for rest of hair to be cut and its too short but it had to be cut short for it to be evened out as had it longer at front and shorter at back but she didn't any layers in like I asked so not much shape to it. Hate it!! She said are u still growing your fringe out and I was like err yeah but I don't remember saying to her I was growing my fringe out and she seems to be under the impression I want my hair all one length even though I have never said that hence why she probs didn't put layers in argh

Am I missing something ? Where's the dilemma here exactly ???
Question Author
The dilemma is can I just get my hair coloured at this place and get it cut somewhere else without offending anyone
Return and ask for the layered cut. Take a picture of the style you want.
Bullsh1t!

Offending anyone? What nonsense. You are the customer, you have the dosh. If they don't give you good service, you go somewhere else.
If they do get offended, you go somewhere else.
Damned babies if they do though.

Oh god no I couldn't do that lol

my hair is quite thick so I think I need the layers to thin it out or do layers make your hair thicker?
layers can make it stick out when heavy, you probably need it thinning.

you can go to two places but surely itd be cheaper to get done together.

MWB you are right, I shouldn't worry about offending anyone its silly but I can't help it. I don't think I'm worried about offending them actually more like if they say something to me when I go in to get colour done it could be a tad embarassing.

MWB, one hairdresser I went back to after not going there for a while was really quite hostile to me, u could just tell he hated that I went to someone else. Not going back there again. It is childish I agree.
Why couldn't you go back?

Stop being such a doormat & stand up for yourself! You're the paying customer, they need your business.

Put your hard undies on!
After that hairdresser was hostile to you, you should have walked straight out the door. How dare he! Again you have the business they want.
go elsewhere and you will have to pay for the corrected styling. Go back with the picture and the re-cut should be free - but leave a tip for the extra time as it was your fault for not explaining clearly. Time costs in any business.

MWB.....clients are not always clear with descriptions and its always a help to show a picture - gives the stylist the chance to say whether she can cut it.

I know, I'm too scared to though!
Oh Angel.

You must not be scared. You are the paying customer & they need your business. Never let anyone make you feel inadequate.
Put on a brave face, go in with your head held high, look them in the eye & calmly but firmly & clearly tell them what you want from them. You might be sh1tting yourself inside but they won't know that!

Good luck. :)
