does anybody know the answer for the following------when parents divorce and then remarry,the father then dies without leaving a will.leaving 1 natural son and 1 stepdaughter.who would be due to any money and possessions left.many thanks for any replies.

The first wife (mother) gets nolthing because of the divorce; as if she had predeceased the father. The rules of intestacy will provide that the estate is divided between the second wife, and the natural children, No time for more detail.

Does depend where you live. I understand that if you live in Lancaster and die intestate then the Duke of Lancaster (ieThe Queen) gets the lot.
