I have a doctors appointment tonight but just wanted to see if anyone could help me.

In the past week my friend has twice told me my lips are blue and my fingernails have also gone blue once. I am 24 and when this has happened I haven't felt exceptionally cold. I have had clammy skin quite a lot recently and when walking fast yesterday my chest was sore like if you have a cold but passed after I rested...any ideas?

Any ideas?......plenty.

But your GP will investigate you.
It sounds like Raynaud's Syndrome (but it COULD be other things).
Havea look here:~

and see what you think?
Mr Veritas.........blue lips........not associated with Raynauds.
Well pardon me,
I am only making a suggestion,I am not diagnosing!
Don't try to diagnose your condition through the internet, you will frighten yourself to death. Your GP will have answers.
Shaking is quite.

MrV...sorry if I was short, but particularly didn't want to get on ANY diagnosis or suggestions, for obvious reasons.
Hence my initial answer.
Sorry, should have said....shaking is quite correct.
occasional blue lips / fingers, generalised pallor, clammy skin - If you felt tired all the time or had fatigue, or became short of breath on exercise, i would be inclined to think you might very well have some form of anaemia CAJ... definitely worth consulting your Doc as soon as is convenient for you.
You have my boyfriend is due back disease!!!

My doctor thinks it is anaemia, I have a lot of the symptoms - tiredness, shortness of breath, sore gums, blue lips, palpitations. I have to go back for blood test next Friday.

Thanks for the advice, it probably was best not to have this answered/diagnosed on here. I typed blue lips into the internet and panicked lol!
you will get iron tablets ferrous sulphate!!!
Hopefully put your mind at rest now.

I might have to start eating steak every night now :o)
the first thing to consider is your diet
caj1....good news.....it could have been a lot worse.

There are many types of anaemia and the blood test will establish the correct type and hence treatment can be commenced.

Well done.
