I do it all the time.

1) Connect a DVD recorder to the Sky box with Scart.

2) Set the DVD recorder "channel" so it will record what is coming in on the scart lead (often channel AV1 or EX1 or something like that)

3) Put a blank DVD in the DVD recorder.

4) Press "Play" the TV program from the Sky planner to watch it

5) Press Record on the DVD recorder.

This should record the program on to the DVD disk.
So pleased you asked that Q mandimoo...I have been meaning to ask it myself. Now we know, thanks.
That is a really useful answer. I'm thinking of having Virgin Cable TV but without the the Virgin-X box, which is the equivalent of the sky+ box. I presume that I will be able to use my DVD Hard Drive Recorder direct from the ordinary cable box they supply ?
Yes, no problem at all.
