I have recently connected a second pc to my router. The internet side is OK, but it will not open outlook express. It is showing an error message that I don't understand. I have printed off from help - "change settings for a connexion", but I'm afraid of messing with things that I don't understand. This is a second hand pc, so would it still have some previous connexion in it? I've had it for quite a while now, but did not have it connected to the internet. There was no problem linking to the router.
the error message read: "Host POP3 could not be found. Please verify you have entered the server name crrectly".

your settings in outlook are not correct, nothing to do with your connection (why are so many people spelling it connexion lately!)

In outlook express click on the tools menu, and then select accounts. then click on the mail tab at the top. you should now see the mail account you have setup in outlook express. double click this to bring up the details of the account.

Once here you need to enter the correct details for your email account that you wish to have on that PC, these details should be available from whom ever you get your email from.

One thing to note is that if you setup the same mail account on both computers it can cause problems because you mail will end up being split between the two computers so you will have problems finding which computer the mails have been downloaded on!

there is some problem in your outllook.

so configure the outlook express and put the correct port numbers .

log in into the correct login name.

the only information I can find at that site is how to waste money!!

johnpol179, as you seem to be directing people to pay for computer support, and this isn't the first time you have posted that link, maybe you'd like to explain to us all how you come to the concussion it's a problem with the port number when the error message is host not found?

You may find your efforts to direct people towards pay for support would be more effective if you came across on here as having the slightest idea what your talking about!

come to the conclusion even... that will teach me to type answers before having coffee ;)

OK ChuckFickens (boy, that's hard to type), I have got as far as POP3 properties. It is asking me to add a name by which to refer to these servers, I'm not sure what is required. Sorry for being a dummy on this, please advise further.
