I have a Craftsman Tiller mod# 917.299850, 3 gears are striped out, one of them, a pinion gear. is discontinued by the mfg. How can I find this gear? Who makes this tiller?

Craftsman is/was the in-house brand name for tools, etc. for Sears (formerly Sears Roebuck) in the USA - I have some tools I know came from them and if you visit their shops in the Us then you will see the name still in use. I cannot be certain about the tiller but this may be an American product and if you google the precise model you should be able to establish where it comes from.
