My 3- armed brass coloured ceiling light has broken and I need to replace it..however I can't find one which takes 100w bulbs..ones with 60w are just too dim for the room..I've got plenty of bulbs but no light!! Can anyone help?
Many thanks

get one of the 60w ones and put 100w or higher equivalent energy saving bulbs in it instead. they generate far less heat so will be fine.
With filament bulbs being phased out,you won't get 100 watt ones for much longer, and your supply will eventually run out! as Chuck says ,go for the 60 watt unit and fit higher power low energy bulbs

Thank you for your answers..unfortunately the fittings are different so the energy saving bulbs won't fit :( Do they really have the same brightness as conventional 100w bulbs?
Many thanks
hi
100 watt light bulbs are plentiful in shops like pound stretcher it's just the want to look very pc supermarkets that only go up to 60 watt in conventional light bulbs
the low energy bulbs do not give off 100watt light power they are becoming a joke
on the horizon are better low power lights
you can get the low power bulbs if you want them with either a screw fitting or standard plug in
shop around
Im a sparky and the 100 watt lamp, bulb to you lot, has not been manufactured since Jan 09 so if you can get them now then stock up as they will soon run out.
