I was using 480p quality on my xbox but since ive taken it to my friends house and brang it home I cant get the 480P working. Ive inserted all the leads in the correct places excluding th yellow one of course. So after i have inserted all the leads in I change to component channel and turn the xbox on the screen chages from green to blue and then does nothing.. :S It looks like the tv tries to show the xbox on screen because before it goes blue it goes black then to blue. Any help is appreciated.

excluding the yellow one??

it's the yellow one that gives you the SD picture, that is the one to use..

oh and pretty sure there is no such word as brang :)

When plugging in the component wires for HD on xbox you leave out the yellow one...
480p isn't HD its SD

So how should my wires be set out on the back of the tv?
on my SD setup I use the two audio leads and the single yellow (I think... can be bothered to pull it all out and look) SD (composite) video lead.... the 3 HD leads in a bundle by themselves (blue, green and red) are not used at all.
hence the reason why your not getting a picture, if you want to use the xbox to its potential firstly you should change the settings to 720p that is unless you dont have a HD tv yet.
If you have your tv set to component and 480p setting then you need the yellow plugged in as that cable will be sending the sd signal(you may have to set the tv to a different av channel for it to work), if you set it to 720p then you can use component.
