Guinea Pigs - Am I allergic

I am alleergic to cats and rabbits and my little boys wants a pair of Guinea pig. Is there a test I can take , if so where?. Or am I wasting my time

either check out your local Cavy association/club/whatever or a local animal shelter which may have these animals or go down to the local pet shop and handle some guinea pigs (obviously assuming your allergy is not life threatening!) Whatever you decide - get some sound advice on the care of your prospective pet.
