What does this saying actually mean? I had some delicious slow cooked Caribbean Mutton Curry a couple of years ago.

Mutton is the tough meat of an old sheep, lamb is the soft juicer meat of a lamb taken from it's mother early and force fed to make it fatter but less fatty and then slaughtered, usually between 120 and 150 days old

When slow cooked it softens up nicely though.
It means if a woman of a certain age dresses younger (Think Liz Macdonald). The saying goes " She's mutton dressed as lamb".

there's nowt wrong with mutton dressed as lamb - it's the pigs in lipstick you have to watch out for.....

LOL tigger - no you must have some - young laydeees who walk around with low skirts/jeans with cropped tops and their stomachs hanging out (usually with a rather not attractive pierced navel) - we call them pigs in lipstick.....
