I have downloaded a window's item, and saved the web address.

When I click on this now it says it doesn't recognise the source, so I put firefox as the source.

It will now load the item but it does not display the illustrations can anyone please tell me why?

What do you mean by "I have downloaded a window's item"?
Wonderfully vague isn't he ? Even here

I am sorry if I did not make it clear, but the item was a web address for 'Microsoft Photo Story3', which I wanted to save for future use.

I saved the link in a word document, in a file I called Web Sites.

But when I click on the link it said it needed a source so I gave it firefox for the source.

I then clicked on it and the page loaded but without any illustrations/pictures.

There that is the best I can explain it rojash.

BillySugger Why do you have to be so obnoxious all the time? Perhaps some day you will require assistance.
If you want to save a website address why don't yo just add it to your bookmarks/favorites, rather than faffing around putting it into a word document and then having to save it?
Well, I can't tell you why that happened, but as Rollo suggests, there are better ways of remembering a site, such as adding it to your favourites.

If I want to make a temporary note of a site/page I create a short cut on the desktop, and delete it after it's no longer needed.

Firefox is great for this, as you need only click on the tab and drag it to the desktop. Of course you can't do that if you've got Firefox maximized, unless, like me, you have two or more monitors. But believe it or not, you can also drag a Firefox tab to your Quick Launch toolbar.
