Self-catering accommodation in towns/cities

Both the net and papers are full of self-catering accom. by the sea, in the Country, on Farms etc., but my husband and I (both Pensioners) want to stay in town/dity centres, where we don't have to go for miles or drive to find eating places and shops, etc.
Is there a web site particularly good for this??

This site lets out appartments/ houses etc all over the world. Once you find one have a look on tripadvisor.com to see if it's mentioned for true comments.
