18 ac - "Out beyond this, mean business (8)" - ?a?e?i?e I've seen the answer quoted as 'baseline' on earlier posts, but I can't figure out why, in the context of the clue. Can anyone help?

18a tennis term ... if ball bounces beyond the base line it is 'out'. And - accountancy term - the base line is the bottom line in business .
Mean = Base
