Memory Cards?

Hi Chaps, hope someone can help.

I put a new SD memory card in my camera & formatted it as the instructions described.
Took loads of important photos & video clips.
I took the memory card to Boots & was going to make a disc, so put the card in the machine. I did not get the disc made in the end.
When I returned the card to my camera, it was asking me to format the card.

Do I say yes or no? Will the images I did take be lost?
I do hope not.

if you format it you will definitely lose all your photos.

But I don't like that it's asking you to format it at all!! it may be that it's already corrupted and you've lost the photos.

Don't format it and see if they are there, if they are not try the card in a computer as it may be a problem with the camera and not the card,
