Hiya, i've lately been searching for some answers to help with my westie. Piriton tablets were recommended on several accounts, but different people suggested different amounts to give to my dog, so i don't know how much to give him.
Can anyone help?
(by the way, my dog is 9 years old, if that makes any difference).

Human medication should never be given to animals, for instance, 1 Aspirin can kill a cat. If you feel that your Westie needs an antihistamine, suggest you obtain it from the vet, and then you will be sure it is suitable for your dog.
You CAN give Piriton to a dog. I'd give a childs dose for a small dog..... That's what my dads vet recommended for his Bichon last year when it was stung by a wasp. I have Danes and have been told by friends with giant breeds to give an adult dose if needed. A vet will give Piriton and charge between 5 and 10 for it.
What's the problem with your dog?

hi we have a beagle and vet says she can have 3 a day if needed she gets really bad eyes in the summer we usually are ok with 1 in the morning and 1 at tea time age doesnt make a difference
The vetd told us to give our westie 1 piriton tablet, see if there is any improvement with that, if not i'm sure the vet wouldn't mind you ringing them for abit of advice
Piriton are safe for dogs, my son gives them his 'pug' as recommended by his vet.
