My Peugeot 306 has been left standing on a friends driveway for 13 months. It flew through its last MOT in January 2008 and has most likely only done 100 or so miles since then and it also had a service a month or two before MOT. It was serviced every year.
Body work is in brilliant condition, as is the interior..
I only stopped using it beacause i aquired a motorbility car.
What sort of problems may have been caused by leaving it standing around? I used to start her up every few days. But after a few weeks the battery was completely dead.

Hi, the main prob you may have is the brakes sticking, Did you leave the handbrake on for the full length of time? your radio code may have to be re-inserted, other than them stated you should not have any other problems once the battery has been charged.
You could also have a sticking clutch.
Unfortunately cars and specifically engines weren't designed to be left idle for long periods of time. It takesapproximately 7 miles of driving to put back the power into the battery that simply starting it takes out. Left idling for short periods doesn't do the battery any good. The other downside is that rubber seals and gaskets can harden and then when put under stress, they fail and start to leak.

Thanks for all the advice. I will try and charge up the battery this weekend, and then take it from there.
