One of my storage heaters has started making a shrill noise which lasts for about a second each time the thermostat clicks. Can anyone tell me what this is, and if it is dangerous? I am pretty worried and have turned this one off . Thanks.

would need to know what type they were to be accurate. Most likely cause is a dirty contactor on the thermostatic controller if the noise occours when the thermostat is switching. It coud be something as simple as contraction of the casing rubing on a component - this is speculation as the unit should really be inspected to nail down the problem.

Local cheap electrician is recommended - NOT BRITISH GAS OR A MAIN DEALER, they will condemn it immediatly and sell u something new without even trying a repair.
