early last year i had a breast lump excised, it turned out to be a fibroadenoma, which is common in women of my age upwards, unfotunatley for me my left bust seems to have stopped growing all together whilst my right one continues to have growth spurts! i know we are all different on both sides, but i cant help feel that this is not normal also since i had the op my nipple is inverted unless stimulated, i cant find a bra to fit as nobody can get the size right.

it is really getting me down and am struggling to cope please help!!!

Right.....I said buy 2 bras, one with large cup and the other with the smaller cup and cut both bras in half, joining the one big cup halves to make one bra with the smaller cup and then the same with the other 2 halves.

Consulted Mrs sqad who replied..." Don't be so silly"

Why?
i went to school with a girl with that problem and she had a bag inserted into the smaller breast so it could be inflated to the size of the other one
I think that is an amazing idea sqad but surely
there would only be a point in joining one half of the bras together, if you joined the other half bits it would be the wrong way round size wise (?)
Hi a -
have you had it checked recently at the doctors? x
yogasun......LOL LOL...yes but at least she would have one bra.
Because you have had breast surgery due to a medical condition, you may be able to have a NH breast implant on that side.
Other than that, you can be given a prothesis (chicken filled) to fit into one side of your bra.
Ask your doctor for his opinion, and if you can be refered back to the hospital.

you cant cut two bras in half...... one of the reasons fibroadenomas are caused is by ill fitted bras.

unfortunately im a funny size anyway and end up pay anything from 40 - 70 per bra, if i cut two bras in half i wouldnt have maximum support which i do need im not big chested but need good support to stop any further lumps growing, as they can grow quite big, good for detecting pregnancy but not much else and can be painful.

i am consulting with Gp this week but just wondered if anyone else had the same problem! it just really gets you down and you get strange looks when your constantly adjusting your cup!!!!!
can I ask how old you are, a-hen?

i am 22
I just thought breasts stopped growing by your late teens, unless you put on weight/were pregnant. I also had a fibroadenoma removed when I was 21, but didn't have any after effects. I know we're all different, but I think you should mention this to your GP. I have no grounds to scare you, I just think you should mention it to someone who knows better!

all the best :o)

thanks sara, you breast do normally stop growing in late teens but i had the lump since i was 16 and had it removed this time last year in which time it had grown considerably larger then when i first found it.

they can supress breast growth and i think my left one is making up for lost time!
okay, fair enough.. I still think a newly inverted nipple should be taken to the doctors!

and don't leave lumps for so long again :o)
Question Author
i wont its been inverted since the op :-s
well I won't nag you, even though I'm (just!) old enough to be your mother.. but you should get it checked if your GP isn't already aware.

the worst thing about it was after id had my op the hospital didnt even care i had to ring them for my results 32 days after my op......... then i got dischraged from their care with out a post op check, so when i stamped my feet and said get it sorted, he just had a quick glance and said ye your fine go home!!! i still have no feeling in it and thats over a year ago!
nerves can take a while to re-knit, that's not so unusual after an op, and of course they assume from your age that you'll be fine..but we know that's not always the case. at least your results were okay :o)
Question Author
yes that what i keep telling myself. i know people arent as lucky.
