Solid rivets have been in use since at least the bronze age (thanks wiki) so the inventor is probably unknown.

Since rivets any blacksmith would recognize have been found in Bronze Age metal materials (5,000 years ago) it would be impossible to determine...

As far as I can find out it was an Ancient Egyptian.
