How To get rid of Internet explorer

hi, i have recently switched to using mozilla firefox as my new browser and i was thinking of getting rid of internet explorer because it still givesa me pop-ups but i dont know how as it does not appear in the add/remove programs list.

You can't remove Internet Explorer. Its an intergral part of Windows. All you can do is use an alternative default browser.

I usually use mozilla nowadays, but occasionally find internet explorer useful as some websites actually do work better under explorer.
