I have got the answers but I wanted to share some clues from today's Guardian set by Pasquale!

My favourite -
12d Dressing up in robes, I annoy a Methodist (10)

5d Various earlier CDs I borrow- last two not in places where they should be (6.9)

11a Where a lot may re-gather to drink gin, possibly (8.4)

Enjoy.

As a Pasquale - and on the off chance that you don't know already - you might like to know that his real name is Don Manley, and that he compiles crosswords under a number of other pseudonyms. You will find him, and them, in Wikipedia, though I think the bit about editing the Church Times is out of date.

Don Manley is also the compiler of the Chambers Crossword Manual and an Azed regular. I am also personally grateful to him for introducing me to the Crossword Club. Altogether a thoroughly good bloke!

Thanks for that cinnabar.

I recall Mr Manley contributing to a BBC 2 programme, not too long ago, about the 'Art of Solving A Cryptic Crossword'

I thought the 'Mayonnaise' (Dressing Up - reversed & hidden) was excellent!
I agree great clues!

11a Watering Hole 'Where a lot (drink) gin' (anag)

5d Record Libraries I know there is an anagram of 'earlier Cds I borrow' but I have too many letters.
Question Author
You are correct about the anagram.

OW must be removed from Borrow .....'last tWO not in'

The surface readings of all three are superb and I suppose qualify as & Lits.
On your recommendation we did this one and enjoyed it thoroughly - thought 7d Down with Henry, Shame! (5) and 20 ac. were very clever as well as the clues already mentioned.
We haven't solved 13 ac. - no doubt a bit of dictionary research will give us our two missing letters.

Glad you enjoyed it.

13a DAWN ....Time to shave.

AWN (Beard of barley or bristle)) on D ( Dad's face)
