Removing my name form mortgage AND secured loan.

I left my husband last year, and took our 2 children with me. He made it so unbearable to stay and wouldn't leave the property so I left and am now living in a privatley rented property, on housing benefit.
My query is, how can I remove my name from the property and the deeds, as cheaply as possible? We also have a rather large secured loan on the property. He's shocking with money and as I'm no longer living there or have any interest in said property, finacially or otherwise, I no longer want my name associated with it. Be it on the loan, mortgage or deeds.
He's being as awkward as hell about everything, including contact with the children.
I have no money to help myself out of this situation, how can I free myself of this noose around my neck?!

The mortgage company will only allow your name to be removed in two circumstances:
Your husband consents, and
Your husband can satisfy the mortgage company he can afford the repayments.

You can apply to the court for an Order of Sale and Division if he does not agree to sell the house. The court will not refuse this, except in very exceptional circumstances, such as the house has been extensively adapted to meet the needs of the occupant's disability.

Your name cannot be removed from the Deeds or Title Register if your name is on the mortgage.

You can't remove your name from the loan until it is paid off - you are jointly liable.
sorry fab mum but if people could just take their names off loans and mortgages, everybody would be doing it! The debts belng to both yu and him, regardless of th fact you are not living there, and if he deaults they can come after hm, him and you or just you. You need to follow the dvice in the above post

Thank you so much for your informative response. I've made a few calls since and have made contact with him re getting the mortgage sorted. He says he wont until I've filed for divorce. Which in actual fact is fine by me. I just hope he keeps to his word!
It doesn't help that he's a mortgage adviser so he know's all the in's and out's as well as having solicitor's right there at his finger tips. I dont have this luxury.
