I am trying to book flights to Malta in June and have got a price on Ryanairs website of 257.40 before flight confirmation. Does anyone know or have previous experience as to how much is added on after? For luggage and check-ins etc,. There are 2 adults and 2 teenage children. Thank you in advance.

by the time you get to the stage that you enter your cc details you will have all the costs involved - don't be afraid to move to the next page.

to keep it cheap, stick to one piece of hand luggage each, get online check in and sort out your own travel insurance and decline ryanairs - it's now set at a default of not choosing it in any case.

There'll be a tenner a head or thereabouts added for cc charges, but again you'll know all this before you enter your details.

You can see this for yourself by going through the booking process as far as payment - just don't enter any card details. Included in the final amount will then be the charge for paying (or using your card). Do realise that you can deselect such things as insurance, thus you will not pay for that. Close the window and you will not be charged nor are you booked.

Their latest charge is �28 for an extra bit of hand luggage - which includes a carrier bag of duty free.

So, if you pick up some duty-free in the airpor before leaving and can't fit it in your hand luggage, you will be charged extra for taking it onto the plane.

Something else to consider is that if you have hold luggage, you will be charged for putting that into the hold per piece, per journey. You'll also have to check in at the airport which will cost you extra per person, per journey.

Have a look at Air Malta - they can often be reasonable on prices

If it's not too late, don't even think about using Ryanair. Our friends booked flights recently for 4 of us at the end of March to Seville and yesterday got an email saying our return flight has been changed to the following day, no reason given. That's no good for us - work commitments and apartment's not available anyway. So now we lose the deposit on the apartment as we can't so far find alternative travel. Hopefully we'll get a refund from Ryanair, but I'd never go with them again as they are completely unreliable.

If you can get a refund from Ryanair can you repost on here and tell the world how? I'm not kidding either, they're notoriously difficult to get money out of, esp is they've screwed you over.
