Cannon Fodder from the Amiga

Hi, I used to like playing the game Cannon Fodder on the old Amiga. Does anyone know if there is a similar game on the PC. Not just a shoot em up but a game that needs a bit of thought to get through to the next level. Thanks

Commandos : Behind Enemy Lines and its sequel Commandos 2 : Men of Courage.

Both available from Play.com, very cheap at the moment.

Hi mattie, thanks for the reply. Do you know if they play on XP as a lot of the older games won't. I have looked at the games on play.com but it doesn't say. Thanks.

Cannon Fodder! That brings back memories.....
The theme music was ace - perhaps not very 'PC' but ace none the less - I'd check out Commandos but it might be worth considering one of the old emulators you see knocking around and play the original again.

War! Never been so much fun!

From what I've seen you may need to run the games in Windows 95 compatibility mode, but due to faster processors than when the game was originally released, they still may not run correctly.

But for �1.70 for the original game from Play.com its worth the risk that it won't run probably.

Hi, thanks for all the answers. I will give Comandos a try and see how it goes. My sons says I am a saddo for wanting to play Cannon Fodder as it's an old game but I used to enjoy spending hour or so trying to get through some of the levels on it and not just like the shoot em ups they play on x-box 360 and the like at least there was a bit of a puzzle about it. hi, the way i play it is through an emulator called Win UAE, this emulates the amiga on your pc.Google it for more info.
