Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Have populated the grid, think I have identified the 36 clues that have redundant letters, but not all the letters. Those identified in clue order plus the gaps make little or no sense, so cannot make the SUBSTITUTION, or recognise the originator of the quote! Hints appreciated.

I didn'r get all the extra letters correct either, but I spotted the name in the grid, and looked up the quotes. I found the one required - but it does only have 30 letters, not the 36 it says in the puzzle preamble.

I may well be missing something - but I do have a complete grid with the substitution made.

The quote does have 30 letters, the 36 letters are those removed from the clues. The first 25 cryptically represent the quote, ignore 2 words in the quote and imagine how the rest can be represented cryptically. Novalis said earlier, it was the beginning of one word followed by 2 seven letter wordsand 1 four letter word, then the second part of the word that precedes them.
The next 11 letters are a group of 4 and a group of 7. The group of 4 is an alternative word for the first word of word in the title of the document, and the 7 a means of getting the substution!

Thanks Doc. I see now.

Without that, I got the "Substitution" by doing what it told me to in the title of the work the quotation refers to.
