if it's gmail ... the web interface is what it's designed for

ping!! e-mail arrives, open e-mail, read e-mail .... reply to email.

I have a work e-mail account that can be accessed from outlook, via a web browser (IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Crome.... etc.... etc), my smartphone ans well as my stupid phone.

I get the same words whichever I use .... black letters on a white background - containing the same inaine manager speak (aka b@ll@cks)

I have to question - is thunderbird worth all this fannying about?

or am I missing something?
I think scaniavabi is correct with his last answer in your last post --- imap.googlemail.com.

Don't use the pop server as neildownx above suggests. Use IMAP.

And AC's right really. In many ways, the web interface is better, and certainly easier to set up.
