Hell, you can pay with anything! Or not even pay! Or jam a shotgun into the clerk's face and say, "charge it." (said charge usually being 5 - 10 years in a federal prison)
Technically, stamps are legal tender. However, to paraphrase Tim from The Office, try telling the bus driver that as you're walking home.
it was David Brent and they are only legla tender in exceptional circumstances and if the shopkeeper accepts them ie dont try it in Waitrose.
You can, in the UK at least. Or maybe it's a myth. And it was indeed Tim from the Office who said "Try telling that to the bus driver as you walk home"; it was David Brent who said that you can use them.
tim2969 - do not argue with me about Office quotations! You will always lose!
its not true as i have tried and been rejected, and as for the office quotes dont you think it is EXTREMELY sad of you all to be qouting the office and debating about legal tender when you could be working, and as for the guy who said he knew all quotes from the office, ur sad, extremely sad. you should be locked up, :D best wishes x x
