Does anyone remember this cartoon? I remember as a kid being well impressed by the boy who only spoke in 'boings' or 'tweets' who ended up leading an orchestra and proving his doubting parents wrong. Everyone else thinks I'm making it up but I found some pics on google and he did exist!!! Am I the only person in the UK that remembers him? Tell me Gerald didn't 'boing' in vain....!

I remember him Robbie,  I wasn't a fan in the same league as you though.  Hope you find fellow boingheads to relive happy memories with.
"This is the story of Gerald McCloy and the strange thing that happened to that little boy. They say it all started when Gerald was two that's the age kids start talking, least most of them do. Well when he started talking you know what he said he didn't talk words he went "boing boing" instead."

Gerald McBoing-Boing was adapted from a short story by Dr Seuss (hence the rhyming). and 4 cartoons were produced.

Gerald McBoing-Boing (1951)
Gerald McBoing-Boing's Symphony (1953)
How Now McBoing-Boing (1954)
Gerald McBoing-Boing on the Planet Moo (1956)

Sadly I have only seen the first two of which the symphony was the best, but if you go to the following website (as well as hearing the above quote) you can click on a link where Mr Magoo babysits for Gerald.

Rent the dvd of 'Hellboy' - oddly enough there are 2 of his cartoons on the extra features
The only person I remember boing-ing was Zebedee in the Magic Roundabout. Boingngngng, Boingngngn!
Robble, will you quit forcing your imaginary friends onto the general public?
