At the moment, generally speaking , children start school the September after they reach 4! So if your child is 4 before 31 August they start school that Sept..... It may vary from county to county though...ring your local education authority and they will advise u. xxx
some schools wont even take them as "rising 5s". my son is 4 in July and he will start in the september but we have friends who cant get their chilren into school until sept 2010.

if theres a specific school you have your eye on and youre not in its catchment area then call and ask if they have a waiting list.

otherwise its just a case of apply online on the county councils website by the january they need to start school.

Some schools will offer places to children who have been in the attached nurserys - preschools too but even that doesnt guarentee a place.
In the reception of my daughters school it advises to register the child in september following their 1st birthday xx
depends on where you live phone the school and ask

my eldest was born in 2000 so her year is always full mellinium babies and all that

she had to wait a whole extra term befor she could start she was 5 in the october so had to wait untill march
