it's absolutely gross, but it worked for me!

could you try adding Ribena, maybe?

when are you due?
Question Author
hey there sara, do you add the ribena hot, or do you let the tea go cold? im due in 6 weeks!
I'm planning to take it too. What does it taste like?
Question Author
well i have just gave it another go Velvetee and i found it not to be so bad if drunk almost piping hot in little sips. But as it cold down it got more gross!!! Im sure it is to many peoples taste and would drink it out of choice, but not me!!

A friend earlier told me to let it go cold and drink it like squash...........blurgh, just tasted wrong!

But i am going to try and persist with it as i have heard so many good things about it!

Sorry Velvetee, just realised i didnt actually answer your question!! It generally tastes like a lot of the fruit teas etc, but again they are't my er.......cup of tea! haha
Thanks Kat, maybe it's a case of just getting used to it. I used to feel the same about Green Tea, but like it now, although haven't had any since I became pregnant..

I think I had a fruit tea in my teens, many, many years ago and nearly threw up, so I probably will find Raspberry Leaf hard to stomach too.
it doesn't taste like fruit teas, it taste like dried leaves!

I thought you were only supposed to drink it in the last few weeks, as it might bring on labour.. although my youngest is almost 12 so things may have changed.

I drank it hot. with hindsight I think adding Ribena to the hot "drink" (or something like) might help it out.
I swear it help my greatly and if I have another baby, would definately take it again. I just couldnt drink the tea though and took the capsules instead. You still get an after taste but just once and eating something nice after takes the taste away.

I only had 2 or 3 cups of the tea so the capsules did work for me.
From what I've read recently Sara, it is recommended from about 34 weeks on, as it was thought it could induce early labour, although I don't think this has been proven.
i took the tablets, the tea is gross. I had labours of 6 hours and 2 hours so i think it worked for me as tablets
Be careful not to take it too soon...I am sured it caused my daughter to be born a month early -I started to take it at 34 weeks - and my little girl was born in less than 2 hours with only 7 minutes of pushing! The docs blamed it on the RLT!
I started to take it at 36 weeks with my son and it worked a dream and caused no side effects....drink it hot not cold and add sugar or honey to sweeten it. Good luck. xxx
