Asprin does thin the blood but it can aggravate some folks tummies, I cant take it, most folk can tho
Aspirin is recommended here, amongst other things:

silka many studies have shown conflicting reports e.g in one study it was shown that wearing congestion stockin gs actually INCREASED, the incidence of DVT and pulmonary enbolism.

Aspirin in small doses does reduce platelet stickiness but mainly on the arterial side and not on the venous side and of course DVT is venous.

Personally, if I was fit, I would not take aspirin for a long flight.
If I had had DVT in the past I probably would take a small dose before flying e.g 75 mgms.

Thank you for your answers.
My GP recommended a 75mg asprin before flying or on any long journeys. So I do take one even if I'm a passenger in a car and travelling for hours. I have no health problems that indicate I need to. It may not do any good, but I doubt if what amounts to one quarter of a normal asprin would hurt.
Very good advice lofty.
