Passport scanning on returning to UK

I am trying to get proof of my return to the UK on a budget airline, for which tickets are not issued If my passport was scanned routinely, can a hard copy of the scan be obtained?

Who wants the proof? There are other ways of proving your return, but it depends on who wants it and why.

Fraud Department of Credit Card Company, who lost �5K in fraudulently setup account in my name, after my ID had also been stolen
They want proof that I was abroad when credit card was used, but with no budget airline ticket it is proving difficult
Default status on my credit report is meaning no more credit as a minimum

If your passport was scanned on return then you may get the Immigration Service (under the Home Office) to co-operate either directly to you or to the credit card company if they ask for it - you could phone the Passports Office at the airport concerned and ask what their policy is (not phrased as such but by explaining the circumstances and then asking if they would help if you wrote in - failing which if the credit card company wrote). But I would not hold out a lot of hope, although the assumption would be they are keen to assist in combatting fraud. If you have your flight details (online confirmation of purchase) and your boarding pass for the (or both) flight(s) then provide that/these to the card company (keeping at least a copy) urging them to obtain confirmation from the airline that you flew (the airline checks passports/identity on boarding). As a double-up you could also contact the airline yourself, although this may in practice mean physically going to the nearest airport that they use because these airlines (especially Ryanair) are surrounded by no-communications barriers. Note that the proof is likely to be needed because �5k is a lot more than buying a ticket and not flying while pretending to be away and committing the offence - if that were the case. I suggest you contact your nearest Citizens Advice Bureau to discuss options and action to take on all fronts - they will also give you leads to other organisations. Scour your insurance policies for any identity fraud and card fraud cover. Best of luck.
Just another thought: There is one other way that you might consider following through if you come up against serious problems with those already suggested. The airport you passed through will have copious CCTV coverage that is recorded. Unfortunately, the card company will put the onus on you to make the effort all the way, although if you handle this delicately you can elicit a more positive than stand-back attitude from them. Again, you will need to have your flight details handy, and obtain from the airport the precise times of landing and disembarkation for your flight. Then you contact airport security and approach getting access to CCTV footage when you would have passed the location of camera(s). I have no real idea how they might react, but if it were me, I would go to the airport and do this in person - it is far too easy to say no over the phone. Frankly, all you would need would be a certified still of you coming through the ""airside" area (before passports, baggage, customs and on the secure side of the airport). This with airport security's confirmation that it is from their records, taken at the given time, should do the trick. Never hand anything over without keeping a copy.
Did you purchase anything / pay a hotel bill etc on another card while you were away? - you could then show your statement to the credit card company
if it was a ticketless booking you must have email confirmation? a credit card bill with the booking? anything on a bank statement? photos of your trip?? time booked off at work? anyone you travelled with, who has firm evidence? baggage stickers on your luggage? receipts from changing currency? receipts from anything you purchased while away?
