knuckle joint is inflamed

the knuckle joint on my finger aches an is swollened up, I dont remember hurting it. It's painful but I dont want too mither my doctor. Any ideas on how I should treat it?

Advice would be to see doc! May prescribe anti-inflammatory to ease swelling. Could have pulled tendon without realising - it is easy done. Suggest you see doc anyway rather than suffering and maybe make it worse.

I have no idea of your age, or existing medical condions e.g. psoriasis, but the is could be the onset of an arthritic condition, so go to your GP for investigation.

ddaisy - any sign of an appointment with doc yet? Sqad correct also, could be onset of an arthritic condition. Have you just been taking painkillers?

I saw my doctor who prescribd anti inflamatory. Am glad I went as he said it may be a oneoff rather than long term so thanks. =0)
