I live in a second floor flat and want to plant some herbs next month, I know they will soon outgrow the small pots I have for them and will need to go outside. I have a small bit of garden but rubbish always gets blown onto there and cats dig up my plants.
I would like a window box that can somehow be attached without having to bolt on the wall.
Can you get them where they hook over the windowsill??

Ive not seen anything like that, but im sure there is something on the market where you could hang a basket.

Prob is though would it be safe and secure??? Being buffeted about by strong winds will make it possibly scrape against your outside wall, this could annoy your neighbours, yourself and possibly damage the wall in the long run.

Why are you not considering attaching it to the wall??? Is it because you dont have to tools or knowledge how to do it or is it against the rules of the building you live in??

Both of the above reasons!
Ive had a quick look about on the net for you. Cant really see anything out there. I did find this though

I would imagine that you would be allowed to hang shelves and drill into the wall INSIDE your flat. What I would do Is get 2 small brackets, fit them securly underneath your window on the inside of your flat. Then id get some really strong wire and attach that to the brackets and the basket.

If you dont want to drill you could get some free weights

and attach the wire to them. What id also do is get some floor protectors

or something similar to attach to the back of the box to protect it.

Whatever you do I would suggest that you make sure it is VERY SECURE caus obv window boxes are very heavy and dangerous.

Hope this helps : )
