When I am on the internet I constantly get new web pages opening with casino offers, cashback offers etc. They are not pop ups as such but brand new web pages opening alongside the one I am currently working on. This is a new problem which has just started in the last few days. My vius subscription (Norton) is out of date but has been for months so I don't think it's that. I haven't change any settings recently either. Can anyone help? (sorry I'm not great with technology)

Thanks in advance x

It sounds like you may have spyware/malware in your computer.
You need to remove Norton (unless you`re going to pay to renew it.)
Then download a free antivirus programme such as AVG.
Just type avg file hippo into google and download from there.
You also need a programme such as spybot search and destroy to remove the spyware, just google spybot file hippo.
Also malwarebytes.

To remove Norton fully you will need to download a removal
tool from the Symantec site.
Agree with trish.

Note that viruses and malware / spyware are two different things.

AVG Anti Virus will look for viruses and remove them, but it will not look for malware / spyware.

While it is NOT a good idea to have more than one anti virus product on your PC it is usually OK to have more than one malware / spyware product (no one product can find all the malware / spyware).

Also make sure your Windows fixes are fully up to date (Windows Update).

People who write these nasty spyware programs often look at the list of recent Microsoft fixes and then write programs that deliberately use the security holes in Windows (knowing that many peole will not put the fixes on).

By installing the latest Windows fixes (and Office fixes if you have office) you are blocking those holes.
