What is this noise

All day, I am getting this noise on my PC, when I am on the internet, its a 'tic, tic-tic. Happening about each 20 seconds or so. Have had a look at my control panel, but it doesn't seem possible to listen to noises, so I can identify it. I think it is a bit like the sound when I go back a page.
Sorry this is so vague. Grateful for any pointers.

i sometimes get this when my computer is running slow or when my internet connection is slow. went to a pc shop and they told me it was to do with either a virus or slow pc . hope this helps

Thank you, my PC has been so slow for ages. Drives me mad. Have all protection so hope it isn't a virus.
