One of the Biggest injustices to the common man to the young couples of this country is Leasehold Tenure you buy a leasehold property pay a sizeable Service charge sit back and get had by the Leasehold system.
The feudal system is still alive and kicking and all thanks to the William the Conqueror and the Normans when it was identified that by actully leasing the property "or the space" more money could be generated than actually selling the property. Leaseholders in England need wake up and smell the beans otherwise Leaseholders will continue to be treat like mere peasants or cash cows.

Where's the question in there. This isn't PontificationBank you know.
I think you are correct Olle,
Sadly the UK is practically the only country in the world that has the iniquity of Leashehold.
How in 2009 we can still have such an antiquated an unfair system, especially to young first time housebuyers is beyond me.
I am 85,and had hoped that one day I would see this system disappear, but it doesn't look like it.
I do realise that those with Leaseholds CAN apply to buy the Freehold,BUT this doesn't help the youngsters I referred to above, they have to buy the (expensive) Leasehold properties first.
