Hi everyone!
Baby Iris Olivia was born on the 30th December at 4.09 weighing 6lb 8.
She is sooo beautiful. She has so much hair and we just cant stop looking at her.
Thanks to everyone who's answered all my little questions and worries over the past 9 months. I guess the real fun starts now! :o)

Thanks bigmamma.
I think I'm doing ok feeding but I'm sooo sore! She feeds for about 10-20 mins every 1-3 hours. Midwives at the hospital said this was ok since she's quite tiny but midwife who visited this morning said 20-40 minutes is more normal!! Its confusing! She seems satisfied though so I'm trying not to worry.

Thanks velvetee! Yeah she's my 1st.
Aww Lolly, congratulations!! I love the name Iris!! Hope you are both doing well (and Dad too!) those first few weeks fly by, but you'll find yourself still staring at her for a long time.

Nancy's 6months now and I'm sat watching her sleep, coz she's still so cute!

Take care. xx
Sorry to ask such personal questions Lolly, but was giving borth as bad as they say it is? What method did you have, natural, Epidural or Caesarean?

My first baby is due in June and I really can't imagine what it will be like. Also, when you held Olivia for the first time, how did you feel? I tend to wonder if I will feel anything, as I've never really been the maternal type.
Sorry, I'm going blind too, baby is Iris Olivia, not Olivia Iris, lovely names.

I had to have a planned c-section velvetee. Iris was breech from 34 weeks. I was really gutted when I found out as I assumed, as you do, that I would have a normal vaginal birth.
The section went really smoothly and I was in and out of theatre in 38 minutes. Although I was the most petrified I have ever been of anything in my life. I've never had an operation before. My husband was by my head the whole time and the theatre staff and nurses could not have been better. (Two thumbs up to the nhs)
When we first heard her cry it was sooo amazing I cant put it into words. Then to hold something who is completely and totally dependant on you is incredible. I'm sure when you hear and see your little one for the 1st time you'll feel the same. Its overwhelming and sounds like a cliche but you love the tiny little thing so much immediately :o)
Well done lollyone!
I have a sister called Olivia.
Glad everything went alright for you, but I wish I'd known your baby was going to be breech. So was mine, until my old midwife gave me a tip. I did what she said, and my son turned into the correct position the day before I had him.
Not to worry. Hope everything goes smoothly for you from now on. x
Ice.Maiden - don't leave us hanging... what was the tip?!
congratulations to you both lollyone, was worth all the waiting then :-)
Enjoy every minute
