I have an N reg Fiesta Ghia 1.25 Zetec and the boot release button on the centre console has stopped working, along with the alarm indicator light staying permanently on and the indicators not flashing when I lock the doors. Could it be an alarm problem or does anyone have any other ideas please?

My J-plate Fiesta Flight recently stopped opening the boot by the tailgate button in the centre console. The rear wash-wipe also failed to operate. I solved this by lightly sanding the copper coloured metal contacts found to the right of the boot lock mechanism. Mine were a black/green colour before hand but they are now nice and shiny goldish. I don't know if this will solve your particular problem but it worked for me! From what I have heard it seems this is a very common problem among Fiesta's. . .

I have no answer to your alarm problem. My Fiesta does not even have anything as advanced as side-impact-bars let alone an alarm. All i can suggest is it could be an earth problem but then your indicators wouldn't work at all so i don't know.

Hope this helps.
